When Size Does Matter

The WSPTU is an apolitical, independent umbrella group made up from Western Sydney public transport consumers. It includes representatives of local groups and individuals working on public transport issues in Western Sydney.

At the February WSPTU Policy Forum we met with members of Ecotransit. They outlined their concerns about the current plan to make the North West Rail Link (NWRL)  tunnels smaller than the ‘standard loading gauge’.

Ignore the noise, think of the Jobs

Vikki Campion (Urban Affairs reporter for the Daily Telegraph) has an article in Saturday’s newspaper (2/2/13)

Ben Keneally (Mayor of the City of Botany) wants Sydney to plan for a second airport; in the article he personally states “he cannot see why it’s not Badgerys Creek. The site has been zoned, it’s close to people, it will mean jobs, and it will mean convenience for both businesses and holiday makers”.
